Clinical Supervisor

This position reports directly to the Program and Clinical Director. This position is responsible for the training and supervision of the clinical staff of Casa Youth Shelter in accordance with its policy and procedures, as established by the Board of Directors and set forth in the procedural manual. Please note, this is a part-time position and the right candidate must be bilingual in Spanish/English.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to requirements for supervisors as stipulated by Casa Youth Shelter policies and procedures, Board of Behavioral Sciences, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists
  • Provide direct, individual, and group clinical supervision for the clinical staff.
  • Provide ongoing, regular feedback and evaluation to supervisees on their direct service and professional development.
  • Ensure that supervisee complies with all legal and ethical practices, review and co-sign supervisee’s progress notes, clinical forms, and correspondence as a legal representative of Casa Youth Shelter.
  • Provides performance evaluations of supervisees.
  • Communicate quality of supervisee’s work and any training needs to Program and Clinical Director in a timely manner.
  • Monitors, supports and trains where needed to assist supervisee in meeting Casa Youth Shelter service delivery expectation and caseload requirements, charting, record keeping, and documentation standards, and all other quality assurance standards.
  • Participate in Casa Youth Shelter meetings, administrative program meetings and trainings as required.
  • All duties listed above are facilitated in English and Spanish.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Clinical License or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Psychologist. (for a minimum of two years)
  • Minimum of 1-year experience as a supervisor of clinical work.
  • Specialized classes in clinical supervision that will meet the State of California’s Board of Behavioral Sciences minimum requirements. Ideally, the selected candidate will also be an AAMFT approved Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of State of California, Board of Behavioral Sciences rules and regulations as it pertains to all Clinical Staff, especially regulations related to the earning of hours leading to licensure as well as State licensing procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of current clinical theories and techniques in fields of individual, family and group counseling. Ideally, the selected candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Family Systems and Structural theories.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Current California driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, negative TB test, and a positive DMV driving record.
  • Must be able to be cleared by the State of California, Department of Community Care Licensing Background check.
